The UK government is set to increase passport fees from next week.
The increase in fees will apply to those renewing their passport and newly-applying as well.
According to Euronews, applications for a standard online passport for adults made from within the UK will cost £88.50 (it was £82.50). The passport fee for children will go up to £57.50 from £53.50. The fee change is expected to be effective from April 11.

The UK government has said "The fees contribute to the cost of processing passport applications, consular support overseas, including for lost or stolen passports, and the cost of processing British citizens at UK borders. The increase will also help enable the government to continue improving its services".
