Kalady: Cochin International Airport Limited authorities urged the passengers to plan their journey to the airport, anticipating delays or traffic blockades, due to the maintenance works on the Aluva – Mangalapuzha bridge. The maintenance work will likely be extended until the first week of June. A traffic advisory has been issued for passengers from the southern side of Ernakulam district. Traffic blockades were reported at Kalady recently due to regulated vehicle movement and traffic interruptions. Vehicles weren’t able to move an inch forward at Kalady and Mattoor on the MC Road. Hence, long lines of vehicles were seen at most places. Heavy vehicles are diverted via Kalady and Perumbavoor as the strengthening works of the Mangalapuzha bridge have begun. This caused further disruptions in the Kalady route which regularly experiences severe traffic blockades. It is in this circumstance that the airport authorities have issued a traffic advisory for the passengers.
