Bengaluru: Karnataka RTC is all set to launch more multi-axel sleeper AC bus services to Kerala. 'Ambari Utsav class' buses would operate services to Ernakulam while 'Ambari Dream class' buses would be running in the Kottayam and Alappuzha routes. The services are likely to begin in a month when the corporation receives its new batch of buses. Currently, Volvo’s Ambari class busses run service to Ernakulam and Thrissur. Sleeper buses would replace the semi-sleeper Airavat Club Class buses in the Alappuzha and Kottayam routes. The Karnataka RTC has ordered 40 brand–new buses in the Ambari Dream class series. 20 among them had already begun service in February this year. Meanwhile, the Kerala RTC SWIFT has eight Gajaraja AC Sleeper class services from Bengaluru. Four buses each are allotted to Thiruvananthapuram and Ernakulam. Besides, an AC and a non-AC bus in the seater cum sleeper category operate services to Thiruvananthapuram.
