Kochi: Air India Express has launched the fare lock service that saves passengers from exorbitant ticket fares, especially for last-minute journeys. This would help the passengers evade the common phenomenon of high ticket prices close to the date of the journey. Ticket fares could be locked on Air India Express’ website at the available minimum rate, on any date close to the day of travel; this rate would remain unchanged for the next seven days. There is no need to pay the actual ticket price for locking the fare. All you need to pay is Rs 250 as a locking fee for domestic flights and Rs 500 for international flights. The fare lock system allows the passengers to reserve the chosen fare for a set duration. Chief Commercial Officer Ankur Garg said that passengers can log into the website to avail of this service for all the fares except for the codeshare bookings.
