If you love to check out locations connected to the history of countries, the various battles they fought, and border areas, the Indian Army and the Ministry of Tourism have rolled out an app that can guide you to very interesting sites in India. The 'Bharat Ranbhoomi Darshan' app, which seeks to transform India's battlegrounds into tourist spots, can help you experience the spirit of the heroic tales through a new concept called 'battle tourism.'  It can guide visitors to about 70 spots across India, including the Siachen Glacier, famed as the world's highest battlefield, the Galwan Valley known for many military clashes; the Nathu La and Cho La, where border clashes occurred in 1967, India's easternmost military outpost Kibithu, the Bum La Pass, the Doklam Plateau and more. The app also provides information about museums, war memorials, history and stories behind various wars, details on travel permits to these regions and more.

There are also plans to open certain parts of Batalik, Kargil and Drass for trekking enthusiasts who would like to get to experience the region and get a feel of the renowned Kargil conflict of 1999. There will be no access to the current operational areas for tourists. The app connects to a website that also offers virtual tours and other multimedia content, which can also help users tour these spots from the comfort of their homes. The app will be featured on Google Playstore and Apple app Store, soon.
'India Republic Day' has more than 500K search volume on Google Trends in the past 7 hours.
