K-Homes Kerala is an initiative aimed at utilising unoccupied houses to enhance tourism infrastructure. The project will adopt operational models from similar initiatives worldwide, offering affordable accommodation. Beyond generating income for homeowners, the initiative will also ensure the security and maintenance of vacant properties.
The pilot phase will be implemented within a 10-km radius of key tourist destinations such as Fort Kochi, Kumarakom, Kovalam, and Munnar. An initial allocation of Rs 5 crore has been set aside for the project. After evaluating the results of the project, it will be implemented across the state.
