Alankit Assignments Limited has secured a new contract to provide consular, visa, and passport services for the Indian Embassy in Riyadh and the Indian Consulate in Jeddah. VFS was handling these services until now. They would take over only after June 30, when VFS’s contract expires. Agencies manage the visa and passport-related services for Indians who come to Saudi Arabia for employment or visiting. VFS has been providing these services since 2014.

The citizens of 14 countries, including India, are currently banned from entering Saudi Arabia for tourism, family visits or business trips. The other countries on the list are Pakistan, Bangladesh, Iraq, Indonesia, Jordan, Algeria, Egypt, Ethiopia, Morocco, Nigeria, Sudan, Yemen and Tunisia. The restriction is expected to be lifted around June this year.
