Kashmir's 48 tourist spots closed: Full list of destinations; tourist advisory

Following the terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam last week, around 48 of the 87 destinations of the Union Territory has been temporarily shut down. 26 people had died in the attack at Pahalgam's Baisaran Valley on April 22. The closure is reportedly to facilitate the ongoing investigations into the incident and to ensure tourist safety. Reuters has also mentioned a government order they reviewed, which said that the closure is to tighten security. Those closed in the Anantnag district, which Pahalgam is part of, include the Sun Temple, Verinag Garden, Akad Park, Margantop and Sinthan Top.
