27 airports closed, 430 flights cancelled after military strike: Details

India has temporarily shut down 27 airports in the country amid rising tensions with Pakistan. Besides, around 430 flights too have been cancelled. Many airports in the northern and central–western parts of India have been closed down.
List of airports closed in India
The airports that are temporarily closed are Dharamshala, Hindon, Shimla, Gaggal, Gwalior, Kishangarh, Srinagar, Patiala, Amritsar, Jaisalmer, Jammu, Leh, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Pathankot, Halwara, Jamnagar, Mundra, Bhatinda, bhuntar, Ludhiana, Chandigarh, Bhuj, Keshod, Kandla, Porbandar and Rajkot.
Operation Sindoor: Flights cancelled from South Indian cities
Bengaluru (BLR)
Air India Express: Cancelled 8 domestic flights, affecting the following routes:
Hyderabad, Mangaluru, Delhi, Lucknow, Gwalior, Varanasi, Ayodhya, Thiruvananthapuram. There are also general alerts on further delays and cancellations.
Hyderabad (HYD)
18 flights cancelled, primarily to Delhi, Chandigarh, Amritsar, Jammu, Srinagar, Leh
Chennai (MAA)
1) 2 IndiGo cancelled flights to Chandigarh.
2) Cancellations also reported on routes to Uttar Pradesh.
Airline-specific cancellations
1) IndiGo: Over 165 flights cancelled from airports in North and West India.
2) Air India: Suspended all flights to and from Jammu, Srinagar, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, and others until May 10.
3) SpiceJet: Cancelled flights to and from Leh, Srinagar, Jammu, Dharamshala, Kandla, and Amritsar.
4) Akasa Air: Suspended flights to and from Srinagar.
5) Air India Express: Suspended flights to and from Amritsar, Gwalior, Jammu, Srinagar, Hindon.
International disruptions
Airlines like KLM, Singapore Airlines, Thai Airways, EVA Air, Korean Air, and China Airlines are rerouting flights to avoid Pakistani airspace. Some flights, like Thai Airways FRA–BKK, were diverted mid-air.
Travel Advisory
1) Check 'Flight Status' frequently on airline websites and apps.
2) Contact airlines for rebooking or refunds.
3) Avoid travel to northern border areas until the situation stabilises.
Pakistan cancels flights, closes airports
147 flights were cancelled in Pakistan, which is around 17 per cent of the total flight services in the country. Lahore and Karachi airports are closed. Data from Flight Radar 24 reveals a deserted airspace between Pakistan and India’s western airspace from Kashmir to Gujarat.
Since tensions started escalating, most airline companies have avoided the Pakistani airspace; instead, they have been choosing the Mumbai—Ahmedabad airspace. India had cancelled around 250 flight services after Operation Sindoor. Air India diverted two international services via Amritsar to Delhi. American Air also cancelled its Delhi—New York flight yesterday.
The central government has urged the hospitals in the border areas to be ready to face any emergency situations and ensure sufficient stock of medicines and other supplies. The government has given the Indian armed forces complete operational freedom to take decisive action in case of any provocation from Pakistan.
