Kottayam: Train services on the Kottayam route, which were disrupted on Monday after a tree fell on the track between Mavelikkara and Chengannur railway stations, were restored late on Monday.
The incident occurred around 6:50 pm, damaging the overhead power lines and resulting in a disruption to the electric supply. As a result, at least five trains were delayed along the affected stretch, railway officials confirmed.
According to a release from the Railways, the affected section has been cleared, and the overhead power supply has been restored.
Train operations on the route have resumed, and priority is being given to clearing all the trains that were held up due to the track obstruction, the Railways informed.
