Security measures have been tightened in airports across the country ahead of the 79th Independence Day. Cochin International Airport has also released a passenger advisory, urging flyers to arrive early for extended security procedures. “In anticipation of Independence Day, security processes at all airports, including Cochin Airport, have been heightened. Passengers are advised to arrive earlier than usual to accommodate extended check–in and security procedures,” read the passenger advisory released by CIAL. Baggage too would be thoroughly checked as part of the heightened security.

Ladder point check
In addition to the usual checks before boarding the aircraft, passengers are once again screened at the ladder points. Such security checks are time-consuming. So, the passengers have been advised to arrive early at the airport to complete the security procedures smoothly. Security checks have been made stricter at the Cochin International Airport as per the instructions of the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS). Besides checking the passengers and their baggage thoroughly, the airport premises will also be under strict surveillance on the day.
