The first-ever Vande Bharat Express was launched in 2019 from Delhi to Varanasi (22436). Ever since, the pilgrimage city has welcomed a lot more Vande Bharat services to cater to its devotees. Recently, yet again, a Vande Bharat express train was announced for the temple city. This is the seventh Vande Bharat train for Varanasi, and it will be an extension of the Meerut City - Lucknow Vande Bharat Express. The trains (22490 and 22498) will begin their service on August 27. The trains will cover around 783 km in 11.50 hours and will also run via the Ayodhya Dham Junction. 

Stops and ticket price
Between Varanasi and Meerut, the train will stop at Ayodhya Dham Junction, Lucknow NR, Bareilly, Moradabad and Hapur. The train has eight coaches and consists of AC Chair Cars and Executive Cars. The ticket prices for the AC Chair Car and Executive Chair Car from Meerut to Varanasi are Rs 1,915 and Rs 3,525, respectively.  The train is expected to bring in a lot more tourists to Varanasi, Lucknow, Ayodhya and Meerut. 

Timings
As for the Meerut - Varanasi Vande Bharat Express (22490), the train will depart from Meerut at 6.35 am and reach Varanasi by 6.25 pm. On its return journey, the train number 22489 will depart from Varanasi at 9.10 am and reach Meerut at 9.05 pm.
