Kottayam: Trains will either be diverted or rescheduled on the Kottayam route on September 20 and 21 as maintenance work progresses on the rail tracks across the Kodoorar River. Currently, the girders on the bridge across the river are being replaced.

Trains that will be diverted via Alappuzha on September 20
Thiruvananthapuram – Chennai Superfast (12624) will stop at Alappuzha and Cherthala stations
Thiruvananthapuram North – Sri Ganganagar Express (16312) will stop at Alappuzha
Thiruvananthapuram North – Bengaluru Humsafar Express (16319) will have a stop at Alappuzha
Kanyakumari – Dibrugarh Vivek Express (22503) will also stop at the station in Alappuzha.
Thiruvananthapuram – Madurai Amrita Express (16343) stops at Haripad, Ambalappuzha, Alappuzha and Cherthala railway stations.
Thiruvananthapuram – Mangaluru Express (16347) is scheduled to stop at Haripad, Amabalappuzha, Alappuzha and Cherthala stations.

Trains that end their trips midway
Chennai – Thiruvananthapuram Superfast (12695) from Chennai on September 19 will end its trip at Kottayam. Meanwhile, the return trip, Thiruvananthapuram – Chennai Superfast (12696) starts from Kottayam at 8.05 am on September 20.
Madurai – Guruvayoor Express (16327) will end the trip at Kollam on September 20. The train between Kollam and Guruvayoor is cancelled. The Guruvayoor – Madurai (16328) Express departs at 12.10 pm from Kollam. Meanwhile, the Nagercoil – Kottayam Express (16366) will terminate its trip at Changanassery on September 20.
