Nedumbassery: The winter schedule at the Cochin International Airport has been published. The air services will be operated as per this schedule from October 26 to March 28. Star Air will launch a new service from Kochi to Bengaluru. Meanwhile, Akasa Air and Indigo will operate services from here to Navi Mumbai. Indigo will also be operating two daily services to Thiruvananthapuram. As per the renewed schedule, there will be 1,520 services via the Cochin airport in a week. Currently, there are 1,454 weekly services from here.

Indigo will launch a new daily service to Thiruvananthapuram. According to the latest schedule, the Indigo aircraft that departs from Kannur reaches Kochi at 9.40 am. The same aircraft will then operate two daily services, at 10 am and 3.50 am, in the Kochi – Thiruvananthapuram sector. Meanwhile, the return trips from Thiruvananthapuram are at 1 pm and 7.20 pm.

Star Air will launch four new services in the Kochi – Bengaluru route. Akasa Air will also start daily services to Ahmedabad and Navi Mumbai. Meanwhile, Indigo will also operate daily services to Navi Mumbai. Besides, Spice Jet is all set to launch daily services on the Chennai and Hyderabad routes.

Twenty-seven airline companies are operating services on various routes from Kochi. Indigo operates the most number of international services with 49 weekly services. Meanwhile, Air India Express operates 47 weekly services. There are 67 services from Kochi to Abu Dhabi in a week while 45 flights are scheduled to Dubai and 32 services to Kuala Lumpur. Air Asia is likely to increase its weekly services from 11 to 21 while Air India will resume its Doha service. Akasa Air will launch a daily service from Kochi to Damam. Meanwhile, in the domestic sector, 86 services are operated to Bengaluru, 69 to Mumbai, 63 flights to Delhi, 47 services to Chennai and 61 flights to Hyderabad.

CIAL Managing Director S Suhas said that the travelling experience has been significantly improved at the Kochi airport through the modern development of basic facilities as per the latest 2.0 digitisation project. Meanwhile, the authorities are trying to launch more airline services from Kochi to various destinations.
