KSRTC budget tourism trips this October: Destinations, dates, timings

Travelling on KSRTC buses, affectionately called aanavandi, has a unique vibe of its own. It remains the preferred mode of transport for many who love to travel, especially on long-distance journeys. KSRTC has a dedicated fanbase of its own. A large number of people continue to travel, taking advantage of KSRTC’s budget tourism project. From children to the elderly, its patrons span all age groups. KSRTC’s budget tourism project, which paved the way for a touring culture in the state, is immensely popular. The driver and conductor play energetic and engaging roles during these trips.

What's in store this month?
The Thrissur KSRTC depot has scheduled several interesting trips for October. Trips are planned to Nelliampathi, Vattavada, Silent Valley and Ilaveezhapoonchira on October 4, 5, 10 and 11. The first trip will be to Nelliampathi on October 4. It is scheduled to start at 7 am and return by 7.45 pm. The ticket fare is Rs 600.

The trip to Vattavada on October 5 is designed for those who enjoy cool climates and nature. It will start at 5.15 am and return the next day at 2 am. The ticket fare is Rs 920. Guess where the October 10th trip is going - it's Silent Valley! The trip will begin at 4.45  am and return at 8.30 pm. The ticket fare is Rs 1,770, which includes a jeep safari, breakfast and lunch.

On October 11, a trip to Ilaveezhapoonchira–Illikkal Kallu has been organised. The journey will start at 5.30 am and return by 11 pm. The ticket fare is Rs 680.
