Bookings for train tickets have already begun, although the Onam season is two months away. This year, Thiruvonam is on August 26. Confirmed tickets for the AC coaches on trains from the Mumbai region to Kerala on August 22 have completely sold out within a few hours of the booking window opening on Monday (June 23). Meanwhile, sleeper tickets are available in some trains. 

Tickets are up for grabs in all classes and coaches in the Duranto Express from Kurla LTT to Ernakulam on August 22. Train bookings from Mumbai on August 23 will open today. The ticket status for Netravati Express, the only daily train from Kurla LTT to Kerala via the Konkan route, on August 22 is as follows: Second AC - wait list 14; third AC – wait list 13; third economy – wait list 5. Meanwhile, 87 tickets were available in the sleeper coaches last evening. 

The ticket status for the biweekly Thiruvananthapuram superfast (Kochuveli) from LTT on August 22 is: second AC waitlist 14; third AC waitlist 3. 97 tickets are up for grabs in the sleeper coaches. All AC class tickets in the Nizamuddin – Thiruvananthapuram Express (22634) from Delhi to Kerala via Vasai and Panvel on August 22 have become wait-listed. Besides, there are no more confirmed tickets available in the Express Train (19578) from Jamnagar in Gujarat to Tirunelveli via Alappuzha and Thiruvananthapuram.

There are three tickets available in the Sampark Kranti Express (12218) from Chandigarh to Thiruvananthapuram North via Vadodara, Vasai and Panvel. However, no confirmed tickets are available in the AC classes on this train. Meanwhile, there are no confirmed tickets available on the Mangala Express from Delhi to Ernakulam via Kalyan and Panvel. A few tickets are likely to be available in the sleeper coaches. Seats are vacant in all classes in the Poorna Express from Pune to Ernakulam via Madgaon on August 22.
