Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced that 100 special trains would be operated from various parts of the country to Kerala during the Onam season. The passengers have requested that the authorities schedule at least half of them to improve connectivity to Malabar. The railways had considered this demand by allowing the first two special trains to the Malabar region.
