Kerala's Kochi Metro is set to boost its weekday train frequency from today (July 22) to accommodate a steady rise in daily ridership recorded over the last three months. The initiative aims to provide a more comfortable and hassle-free commuting experience for the public.

More trains during peak hours
Under the new schedule, Kochi Metro will run additional services from Monday to Saturday during peak hours. Trains will operate at an improved frequency of 6 minutes and 45 seconds between 8 am and 10 am, and from 4 pm to 7 pm.

Reduced waiting time for commuters
To support this frequency, eight additional train services will be introduced daily during these peak windows. This strategic enhancement is expected to significantly reduce platform waiting times, manage peak-hour crowding, and ensure faster, smoother, and more reliable journeys for daily passengers.
