Travelling to destinations that captured our imagination in childhood is a dream many of us carry into adulthood. For Punjabi travel influencer Anmol Sandhu, Kerala was one such dream. Popularly known as Backpacker Anmol on Instagram, Sandhu recently embarked on his first trip to God's Own Country, and what he witnessed on day one left him completely spellbound.

In a viral video captured at Kasaragod railway station, the influencer compared the station's incredible cleanliness to Japan. Sharing the clip under the caption 'This is not Japan, this is Kerala,' Sandhu expressed his sheer amazement at the pristine conditions. "Since childhood, we have always heard that Kerala is a state of highly educated and progressive people. But today, after coming here, I got to see it with my own eyes. To be honest, this is the first time I have seen such a clean and beautiful railway station in India. This is my very first day in Kerala, but looking at this, I feel this state is going to win my heart," he wrote.

The short video, which highlights the immaculate station premises, waiting rooms, and clean ATM counters, has already clocked over 1.6 million views. Hundreds of users flocked to the comments to welcome the traveller and offer itinerary recommendations.

Major tourist attractions in Kasaragod
The historic Bekal Fort is undoubtedly Kasaragod's crown jewel. Standing tall as Kerala's largest fort, this majestic 17th-century structure offers stunning views of the Arabian Sea. For those seeking adventure, Ranipuram, fondly referred to as the 'Ooty of Kasaragod', is a must-visit. Situated 780 metres above sea level, this hill station is a haven for trekkers, offering lush green landscapes and mist-clad pathways.
