The recently launched FlyBus service connecting Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru with Kozhikode has proven a major success among passengers. Operated by the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC), the premium service has witnessed a high volume of bookings, particularly from passengers boarding from Kozhikode and Kalpetta.

Since its inauguration on August 15, the FlyBus has eased the travel woes of international and domestic flyers heading to and from northern Kerala. Previously, passengers from these regions had to travel to Mysuru to catch a connecting FlyBus to the Bengaluru airport. Now, the direct, seamless link has dramatically cut travel hassles for commuters.

Optimising the travel schedule
With its popularity soaring, KSRTC is now actively considering revising the departure times from Kozhikode to better suit the schedules of international flyers. Currently, the bus departs from Kozhikode at 7.30 pm and arrives at the Bengaluru airport by 4.15 am. However, authorities are proposing a reschedule so that the bus reaches the airport before 2.30 am, allowing passengers plenty of time for check-in and security clearances. For the return journey, the FlyBus leaves Bengaluru Airport Terminal 1 at 10.45 pm and is scheduled to reach Kozhikode by 7.15 am the following morning.

Route and ticket pricing
The multi-axle Volvo AC bus features 48 comfortable seats, ensuring a premium travel experience. It covers a major route, stopping at key transit points including Bengaluru's Nayandahalli Metro Station, Mysuru, Gonikoppa, Kutta, Mananthavady, Kalpetta, and Thamarassery. The ticket fare is ₹1,550 per seat, offering an affordable, luxury alternative to private taxis or multi-step transit routes.
