This Kerala engineer quit his IT job to plant mangroves and grow mini forests

  • March 13 , 2025

Manoj Kumar was a customer support engineer until COVID-19  struck. He then quit his job and focused full-time on seed collecting, rewilding, and advocating for mangroves—something he has been doing for 25 years.

Manoj believes that rather than preaching, experiential learning is what the next generation needs. He emphasizes that instead of focusing on "protecting" the environment, our priority should be to stop destroying what we already have.
