A poet is passionately in love with the language. And here is a teacher named Litty Lokanath, who wrote her first poem "Wings of Pangs" while grieving the demise of APJ Abdul Kalam, former president of India. It received good appreciation from many poetry lovers. It was her ardent wish to meet the amazing person but couldn't. However she feels his blessings in her journey as a poet. "The unseen presence of APJ is my driving energy," she said.

Her anthology 'Small Fingers of Him', comprising 125 poems, was released by the Leadstart Publishing, Mumbai one year ago and later as Amazon Kindle edition also. The book has been one among the five finalists in the best poetry category of E-book literature festival conducted by a UK-based publisher Bards and Sages in 2018.The collection depicts mainly Malayali culture and tradition.

"Litty's poetry is deeply rooted in the old-world values. It is from those values that she draws her inspiration to write. Her poetry is not concerned with the stylistic experimentations of the current times. It addresses the fundamental concerns of human existence that have troubled sensitive minds from ancient times. She writes with the concerns on modern-day issues like violence, unwanted old age and the frightening loneliness that accompanies it. Motherhood is central to her poetry," stated Dr. Salli Varma Raja's review on the book 'The Small Fingers of Him'. He is a faculty of Department of English, St.Joseph's College, Devagiri.

Litty wants to lose herself in writing as it makes her forget everything. "Follow your heart.. This is what every writer says which Lord Krishna have said in Bhagavad Gita. It was the time when I couldn't resist writing. Then all my buried thoughts came to my mind and it get started all in a sudden," she said while also revealing that the book "The Alchemist" has also been an inspiration.
