From the time college opens, we wait for vacations. Vacations are a time to relieve our stress and be at home with our parents. For me it's a time to unwind. All those expectations and anticipations come to an end during vacations. And we won't hear the usual grumblings from our parents, especially from mothers, about not waking up on time and getting ready for college. We are no longer in fear of an impending assignment or exam.
For me vacations usually carry a things to-do list - to be completed by the time college reopens. I wish to create a 'new me' by next academic year. However, all these plans go in vain as I spend my holidays sleeping and eating. By the next academic year, the only change is in my appearance due to eating all those stuffs readily available.
For me vacations consist of all those uncompleted promises that I have made to myself and which I carry on to the next vacation. But in spite of all these, vacations are fun to spend with my cousins and having those loose talks which we usually have when our parents are not around. We travel to unseen places, watch movies and have fun. We create memories that we carry on to the entire academic year and we wait for the next holidays to add colour to our monotonous life. American writer and philosopher Elbert Hubbard had said, 'No man needs a vacation so much as the man who has just had one'. One can't agree more with him!
