Admission to some of the top few institutes conducting postgraduate research in Biology and Interdisciplinary Life Sciences is conducted through the JGEEBILS General Entrance Examination (Joint Graduate Entrance Examination for Biology & Interdisciplinary Life Sciences).
It is conducted jointly by the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) and the Bengaluru-based National Center for Biological Sciences (NCBS), which is a part of TIFR.
The common examination is for admission to the MSc, PhD, MSc by research and Integrated MSc-PhD programmers of 24 leading institutes in the country. The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) at Thiruvananthapuram is among the 24 institutes.
The application can be submitted through the website http://univ.tifr.res.in till January 31. The details of the examination are available on the site www.ncbs.res.in/JGEEBILS also. The site contains the list of programmes and the institutes for which admissions are being conducted, as well as the eligibility details.
The examination will be held on March 7 at various centres, including Kochi.
