First Bell 2.0 | Classes to begin tomorrow, plus-two on June 7

Thiruvananthapuram: The ‘First Bell 2.0’ digital classes will be telecast via the Kite Victers channel from June 1 as the new academic year commences in the state. The plus-two classes will begin on June 7.

The trial telecast of classes from 1 to 10 will be held from June 2. The classes will be held on a trial basis in the first two weeks. The respective teachers should ensure that all students have the facilities to attend the digital classes during this period.

The Pravesanolsavam (school-opening ceremony) programmes will begin from 8am on Tuesday. Popular Malayalam film actors Mammootty, Mohanlal, Prithviraj, Suraj Venjaramoodu and Manju Warrier will greet the students. The Kilikonchal classes for anganwadi students will begin at 10.30am.

Muralee Thummarukudy, chief of disaster risk reduction in the UN Environment Programme; magician Gopinath Muthukad, and UNICEF social policy advisor Dr Piyush Antony will interact with the students from 11am.

Child psychiatrist Dr Jayaprakash will answer the students' queries during the live phone-in programme from 2pm to 3pm.

Apart from the digital classes via the Kite Victers channel, an online platform will be launched from July for the teachers and students to directly interact. All classes will be available on the firstbell.kite.kerala.gov.in portal this year too. CEO K Anvar Sadath said that the schedule will also be made available on the portal.

Pravesanolsavam song released

Education Minister V Sivankutty has released the school Pravesanolsavam song. The song 'Puthiyoru sooryan udiche...' was penned by poet Murugan Kattakada, who is also the academic coordinator of the General Education Rejuvenation Mission. Ramesh Narayanan composed the music, while Madhu Shree, and students Abheri Vijay and P V Ganga Devanda sung the song. General Education director A Jeevan Babu and S S K director A P Kuttykrishnan also spoke at the event.
