Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Technological University (KTU) informed that BTech examinations scheduled on Wednesday, July 14, will be held in offline mode as announced earlier. The decision comes against the instruction of the All-India Council for Technical Education (c) to conduct engineering exams online.

In a press release, KTU, which is officially known as A P J Abdul Kalam Technological University, said that AICTE had only given an instruction to explore the possibilities of holding online exams. “Circumstances to postpone offline exams do not exist,” said KTU.

Incidentally, the AICTE’s directive to KTU came while the latter was engaged in the final preparations to conduct offline tests. It was based on a complaint filed by Member of Parliament Kodikkunnil Suresh to the AICTE pointing out that safety issues were involved in offline exams in view of the COVID-19 pandemic that the national body intervened in the matter.
