Scholarship for OBC students in schools: Apply before Sept 30

Thiruvananthapuram: Applications have been invited from school students belonging to the Other Backward Classes category for the 2021-22 scholarships.  Those studying in classes 1 to 10 in the government and government-aided schools in Kerala are eligible.

The annual income of the applicant's family should not exceed Rs 2.5 lakh.

Applications must be submitted at the respective schools before September 30.

The State Government has instructed the school authorities to upload the data on the portal www.egrantz.kerala.gov.in before October 13.

The scholarship is implemented with 50 per cent central assistance.

A maximum of two children can apply from one family. The income certificate, issued via the e-district portal, should be compulsorily submitted. Those who did not submit the community certificate during school admission or got converted later, should submit the community certificate.

The scholarship amount would be transferred to the bank account. All applicants must provide the details of the bank accounts in their names.

The beneficiaries would be selected based on academic excellence and income criterion, and also depending on the availability of funds.
