Thiruvananthapuram: The University of Calicut and Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) have postponed the exams scheduled on 27 September as a general strike (hartal) has been called on that day.

Meanwhile, Mahatma Gandhi University would take a decision in this regard either on Friday or Saturday.

The departmental exams of the Kerala Public Service Commission too have been postponed.

Semester 5 and 6 exams (2015 Revision) of the three-year engineering diploma course have also been rescheduled to 7 October and the exams of the food craft courses would be held on 30 September.

As reported earlier the Left Democratic Front, the political alliance which runs the Kerala government, on Thursday called for a state-wide hartal on September 27 to express solidarity with the farmers protesting against the Centre's anti-farm laws.

The farmers' outfits have called for a Bharat Bandh, a nationwide shutdown, on this day.
