Baselios Cleemis Catholicos, Major Archbishop of Syro-Malankara Catholic Church, stressed the importance of communication but urged caution. He was delivering the inaugural address at the 12th anniversary of the campus-based Radio Max 90.4 FM channel at the Mar Athanasios College for Advanced Studies (MACFAST) at Thiruvalla on Wednesday.

"Communication is important and each of our activities in this regard should be directed towards the path of goodness," the Cardinal said, while adding that, "each of us should take care to ensure that our activities do not hurt the feelings of others."

“Introspection into our communication is also vital in the current times,” he also noted.

The Cardinal referred to the Malayalam film 'Home' which portrayed the influence of a smartphone in a family. He appreciated the performance of actor Indrans who played the role of Oliver Twist in it.

He also presented the 'Selfless Award', which consists of a momento and a cash prize of Rs 25,000, to Indrans.

He also honoured Dr Jyothishkumar Parameshwaran, Research Director of MACFAST, who was recently recognised as one of the prominent scientists in the world by the Stanford University.

Archbishop Thomas Mar Koorilos of the Archdiocese of Thiruvalla opined that the humility of Indrans is a model that all of us can emulate.
