New Delhi: Three places, including Idukki, have been removed from the list of exam centres for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2022.

The authorities have said that those who had selected Idukki in Kerala; and Sonipat and Panipat in Haryana should choose other exam centres. However, the reason for removing these centres is not known.

There are exam centres in all districts in Kerala, except in Idukki and Pathanamthitta. The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur is conducting the GATE on February 5, 6, 12, and 13 next year.

Incidentally, both Idukki and Pathanamthitta are two districts in Kerala often bearing the brunt of natural calamities. Landslides and flooding are frequent during the rainy season.

The exam results will be declared on March 17. The GATE is an all-India entrance examination for admission to masters’ programmes in engineering, technology and architecture.
