IISc introduces new BTech programme with scope for MTech extension

The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bengaluru has introduced a four-year programme called BTech Mathematics and Computing. Interested candidates can extend the course up to a year and complete MTech too. The course aims to train professionals who could lead the research in this field.

There are a total of 52 seats up for grabs.

Eligibility, applications
The applicants should have studied Maths, Physics, Chemistry, one language and a fifth subject in Class 12.

The online applications could be submitted until 30 August. There will be an application fee of Rs 800. Scheduled Caste/Tribe candidates need to pay Rs 400.

The selection would be based on the rank list of this year’s Joint Entrance Exam–Advanced.

The admission counselling would be done by the institute.

Fees
The annual tuition fee is Rs 2 lakh. Besides, an additional amount of Rs 20,000, including Rs 15,000 as donation too should be paid.

Scheduled Caste/Tribe candidates need not pay the tuition fee.
