The Kottayam district collector has declared holiday on Monday (August 1) for educational institutions in the Meenachil and Kanjirappally Taluks in the wake of heavy rain that lashed central Kerala on Sunday.
However, all scheduled examinations, including at the university-level will continue, informed the district collector in a press release.
Meanwhile, 24-hour control rooms were opened at the district-taluk level in Kottayam in the wake of the heavy rain.
