JEE-Main results out; Keralite among 24 who scored perfect 100

New Delhi: The JEE-Main results were declared on Monday. Twenty-four candidates scored a perfect 100, the National Testing Agency informed.

In the fray is Keralite Thomas Biju Cheeramvelil. He was 15th on the list.

Thomas is a student of Vishwa Prakash Central School at Thirumala, Thiruvananthapuram. He plans to pursue Computer Science at an IIT.

A resident of Kesavadasapuram in the capital, Thomas is the son of Biju C Thomas, Engineer at the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) and Reenie Rajan, Assistant Professor at Government Women's College.

Maximum candidates who have scored 100 NTA score are from Andhra Pradesh (5) and Telangana (5) followed by Rajasthan (4).

One candidate each from Haryana, Maharashtra, Assam, Bihar, Punjab, Kerala, Karnataka, and Jharkhand has bagged the perfect score.

The results of five candidates were withheld on account of using unfair means, the Agency added.

According to officials, the NTA score is not the same as the percentage of marks obtained.

"NTA scores are normalised scores across multi-session papers and are based on the relative performance of all those who appeared for the examination in one session. The marks obtained are converted into a scale ranging from 100 to 0 for each session of the examinees," a senior official said.

JEE Main 2022 July session was held between July 25 and July 30 in two shifts.

Along with the JEE Main result 2022 July session, the merit list and final answer key will also be released.

The candidates who will successfully clear the JEE Main 2022 can apply for IIT JEE Advanced, the application process will commence on August 7.
