Apply for PG Diploma in Rural Management at IRMA

Applications are invited for the Post-Graduate Diploma in Management (Rural Management) [PGDM(RM)] programme at the Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA).

Online applications for the two-year PGDM(RM) programme can be submitted till December 31.

The application fee is Rs 2,000. It is Rs 1,000 for candidates in the Scheduled Caste/Tribe categories and persons with disabilities. Candidates in the BPL category will be exempted from paying the application fee. For NRIs the fee is Rs 3,000.

The premier rural management institute has been offering training in this sector since 1979.

PGDM (RM)
The scores of the CAT 2022/XAT 2023/CMAT 2022 will be considered for the first round of selection for the programme. Apart from this, there will be an online written test and interview in the second round. The selection will be based on the score in the national test, written test, performance in the interview, marks from Class 10 onwards, and work experience, among other criteria.

Candidates who have completed graduation with at least 50 per cent aggregate marks can apply. It is 45 per cent or above for candidates in the SC/ST, OBC (NC), Economically Weaker Sections and persons with disability. Equivalent grade point average will also be considered. Final-year students who would complete the degree exam by at least July 3, 2023, can also apply.

The programme, approved by the All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), is equivalent to a Master's degree.

The fee for the two-year course is Rs 15 lakh, including hostel expenses. Around Rs 1.25 lakh of deposit amount also needs to be remitted. Around 80 scholarships worth more than Rs 3 crore have been instituted. The terms and conditions for candidates in the NRI category are different.

Other programmes

PGDM (RMX)
Post-Graduate Diploma in Management (Rural Management-Executive), more popularly known as the PGDM(RM-X), is a 15-month programme. Candidates need to have at least five years work experience in managerial positions. Apply by January 27.

FPM (RM)
Fellow Programme in Management (Rural Management) is a doctoral-level programme for those seeking careers in teaching, research and consultancy. Apply by February 15.
