Assisi Vidyaniketan Public School, Kakkanad has displayed nearly 1,000 pieces of artwork done by at least 500 of its students at an exhibition titled, 'Art From The Heart'.

Bose Krishnamachari, noted artist-curator and president of Kochi Biennale Foundation, inaugurated the two-day exhibition on Tuesday.

Students from classes 1 to 12, including special children who attend the school, are participating in the exhibition, said Assisi in a press release.

Krishnamachari urged the students to have "an inquisitive mind as they pursue their journey of life".

The award-winning artist said how his remote village in Angamaly inspired him to pursue his passion for art and told the children to 'observe the serene nature and gather inspiration from it'.

Former Kochi Mayor KJ Sohan, school director Rev Fr Jacob Baiju Ben, administrator Rev Dr George Mathirappilly and principal Suma Paul were among those present at the inauguration of the exhibition.
