Charummoodu: Right from birth, there has been hardly a point in their lives that separated them from each other. And the four siblings are now appearing for their first public examination together.

The quadruplets, Ashalakshmi, Ashwin, Athul, and Arjun, are appearing for the examinations at the Padanilam HSS here. They were born on August 15, 2006, to Shanthan-Maya Couple of Nediyaparamil at Erumakkuzhy after a long wait of nine years. From LKG to Class 4, they studied at the RCV LPS Ulavukkad and joined the Padanilam school from Class 5 onwards.

Among the kids, Arjun bagged prizes in painting competitions while Athul won first prize at the school science fair. Their father, Shanthan, who used to work abroad, returned home four years ago. He is currently ailing and is even unable to walk.

Their mother, Maya, also suffers from heart-related ailments and is unable to execute hard tasks. For the past five years, their teachers have been meeting their education expenses.
