It's admission time at 9 IHRD Technical Higher Secondary Schools

Applications have been invited for the Class 8 admissions at nine Technical Higher Secondary Schools in Kerala under the Institute of Human Resource Development (IHRD) for the academic year 2023-24. Interested students can submit the applications on the website http://ihrd.ac.in till March 21.

School locations, subjects

Technical schools offering studies in Classes 8, 9 and 10 are located at the following places in the state: Kaloor (Ernakulam), Puthuppally (Kottayam), Vazhakkad (Malappuram), Peerumedu, Vattakkulam (Edappal), Muttom (Thodupuzha), Mallappally, Kaprassery (Nedumbassery) and Perinthalmanna.

In technical schools, topics such as Computer Science, IT and Electronics are taught apart from the regular subjects such as English, Malayalam, Social Science, Maths, Physics and Biology taught in other schools. The medium of instruction is English. On completion of Class 10, students can earn the Technical High School Leaving Certificate (THSLC).

Admissions are now open for students who have completed Class 7. Each school will conduct admissions separately. If there are more applicants than the number of seats, an entrance exam will be conducted.

How to apply

The online application could be submitted to the school where the student seeks admission on the website ihrd.kerala.gov.in/ths till March 21.

A print of the application submitted online and related documents should be sent to the respective school. Separate applications have to be submitted to each school.

The application fee is Rs 110. For students belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, the fee is Rs 55.

The form could also be downloaded from the website or bought from the schools, filled up and submitted physically along with the Demand Draft to the school where admission is sought till March 25.

Annual fee

Annual fee at the technical schools is Rs 8,196, of which Rs 4,430 has to be paid during admission.
