PhD, PG, Diploma programmes at Sree Chitra Institute; check out details

The online registration window is open now for admission to various programmes starting on July 1 at the Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology (SCTIMST) in Thiruvananthapuram. The online registration could be done till April 14.

The programmes are the following:

Master of Public Health (MPH)

The Master of Public Health (MPH) course has 28 seats. The eligibility for admission is a bachelor’s degree in the respective subject.

The course duration is 24 months. Admission is based on an entrance test to be conducted at various centres, including Thiruvananthapuram, on May 20. Selection will take place according to the academic qualifications, work experience and performance of the candidate in an interview.

Diploma in Public Health (DPH)

The Diploma in Public Health is a one-year course. Admission is exclusively for MBBS doctors having three years’ experience in the government sector. Selection is based on a test/interview to be conducted on June 5, 6. The course has 11 seats.

PhD

The educational qualification needed to pursue a PhD at Sri Chitra is Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) from UGC, CSIR, ICMR or DBT or MPhil from the Sri Chitra itself.

Research could be carried out in the following subjects: Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Biological/Biomedical Sciences, Health/Medical Sciences, Bio Engineering and Biomaterial Sciences & Technology. Interviews for PhD admission will take place on June 3.

Application fee

The application fee for all programmes is Rs 1,500. The fee for applicants belonging to Scheduled Castes and Tribes is Rs 1,200.
