Faculty Development Program at MACE shows the way to improve professional and family life

Kothamangalam: Mar Athanasius College of Engineering (MACE) organised a three-day Faculty Development Program (FDP) for faculty members from various colleges across Kerala. It was held to address the difficulties faced by the faculty in the higher education field, especially in the realm of research, following the Covid-19 and the lockdowns necessitated by this pandemic.

The FDP aimed to train faculty in modern optimization techniques and the effective use of technology to enhance research outcomes.

During the inaugural function, renowned academician and former Principal of MA College Dr George Issac emphasized on the need to develop an optimization model for your life, considering the Physical, Spiritual and Family aspects as the major objectives for the model. This optimization model can improve each person to maximize his output and minimize the resources and hence to overcome the difficulties in professional and family life.

The function was presided over by the college principal Dr Bos Mathew Jos. Dr Binu Markose, Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department, welcomed the participants. Dr Biju B, College Dean of Academics, Dr Brijesh Paul, Dean of Research, FDP coordinators Dr Roja Abraham Raju and Prof Kiran Christopher addressed the gathering.

The three-day FDP, which ran from March 22-24, provided an opportunity for faculty members to learn and enhance their research skills. The FDP included sessions on the latest teaching techniques and the use of technology to solve research problems. Resource persons from National Institutes of Technology, Government Engineering Colleges, and MACE conducted the training.
