MA, PhD courses in Economics at CDS; apply by April 30

Thiruvananthapuram: The Centre for Development Studies (CDS), a self-governing institution under the aegis of the Government of Kerala and the Indian Council of Social Science Research (CSSR), has invited applications to its full-time academics programmes, MA in Applied Economics and PhD in Economics.

Interested candidates can apply for the MA and PhD programmes till April 30. The MA programme will be commencing on July 27 and the PhD from August 1.

The eligibility for the MA programme is Bachelor’s degree in any discipline, with at least 50 percent marks. Candidates belonging to SC/ST & Person with Disability (PWD) categories only have to qualify the exam. Those who are appearing for their final examination may also apply.

For the PhD course, the eligibility is a Master’s degree in any discipline or a professional degree (B Tech, MBBS/ BVASC ETC) with at least 55% marks for General category students and 50% marks for those belonging to OBC (NCL), SC, ST, and PWD categories. Those having an MPhil degree from any of the UGC-approved universities can also apply.

The entrance exam for both the courses will be held on June 4 at the assigned centers in Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode, Hyderabad, Pune, New Delhi, Kolkata, and Guwahati.
