JEE-Main 2023: Amritha Vinod topper among women candidates in Kerala

New Delhi: Ernakulam native Amritha Vinod became the top scorer among women candidates who took Joint Entrance Examination-Main (JEE-Main), 2023 in Kerala.

As reported earlier Kottayam native Ashik Stenny scored 100 percentile and stood first among all candidates in Kerala. He had also stood first in the first session of JEE-Main 2023 which was held earlier this year.

Notably, 11 candidates from Telangana scored 100 percentile in the exam. Meanwhile, five each from Andhra Pradesh and Rajasthan and four candidates from Uttar Pradesh scored 100 percentile.

In Lakshadweep, Lukmanul Hakeem became the top scorer with a 94.473 percentile.

The results of 15 candidates suspected to have cheated in the exams have been withheld. Around 11,13,325 candidates attended the JEE– Main that was conducted in two sessions in January and April. Among these, 3,38,963 were women and three were transgender candidates.

JEE is the national entrance examination for admission to top engineering courses in India. The National Testing Agency announced the results of the JEE-Main 2023 on Saturday. IIT admission

In all 2.5 lakh candidates who scored exceptionally well in the BE/BTech papers in the JEE– Main can apply for the JEE–Advanced for admission to the IITs.

The 2.5 lakh seats would be allotted as per the reservation guidelines as follows:

There are 96,187 open seats, 5,063 for persons with disability. Meanwhile, 23,750 seats have been reserved for EWS candidates and 1,250 for EWS–PwD. 64,124 seats will be allotted to OBC candidates and 3375 seats are available for OBC–PwD candidates.

Scheduled Caste candidates can avail reservation for 35,625 seats and 1875 seats for SC–PwD. Totally, 17,812 seats are reserved for Scheduled Tribes and 938 seats are reserved for ST– PwD.

As there would be candidates with equal scores, the total number of candidates who get admission would be slightly more than two and a half.
