SSLC, Plus Two exams: Sports grace marks cut down further

Thiruvananthapuram: The grace marks to be allotted for the SSLC and Plus Two examinations for students participating in international sports events have been brought down to 28 from 30.

As per the latest decision, only those winning medals in events at the international level will be allotted 30 marks. A revised government order on grace marks, which came out last month, stipulated the allocation of 30 marks for appearing in international events, irrespective of whether you win a medal or not.

The grace mark for attending national-level sports events, meanwhile, has been fixed at 22. Those winning a medal in such events will receive 25 marks.

The authorities have also reinstated the grace marks for students who win events such as Talent Search, Children’s Science Congress, Bhaskaracharya Seminar, etc.

The marks to be allotted for different events are as follows:

• Talent search (science, mathematics), Bhaskaracharya Seminar: first place (20 marks), second place (17 marks), third place (14 marks), A grade (20 marks), B  15 marks), and C grade (10 marks).

• State Children’s Science Congress: A Grade: 20 marks; B Grade: 15 marks; and C Grade: 10 marks.

• Participation in the National Children’s Science Congress: 25 marks
