Here's a three-year combined aviation course from a premier govt institute

Pawan Hans Helicopter Training Institute in Mumbai, a Central public sector undertaking, offers a combined three-year programme which enables students to learn Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) and BSc Aeronautics courses together.

Applications for the course could be submitted by post till July 28.

The AME programme is recognised by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and BSc Aeronautics is conducted jointly with the Garware Institute of Career Education & Development under Mumbai University. The institute has been functioning efficiently over the past 38 years.

Eligibility

Students who have cleared higher secondary Class 12 examinations with at least 45-percent marks in total for Maths, Physics, Chemistry and English can apply. The cut-off mark is 40 percent for students belonging to Scheduled Castes and Tribes. A diploma in Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical / Automobile engineering also is another suitable qualification.

A demand draft for Rs 5,000 in favour of PAWAN HANS LIMITED payable in Mumbai has to be sent along with the application as registration fee. This amount will be later adjusted in the tuition fee. Applicants who fail to gain admission would be refunded this amount, subject to conditions.

The registration fee could be submitted online also.

Tuition fees

There are six semesters for the two programmes. The tuition fee for each semester is (in Rupees) 1,01,325/75,825/76,105/75,825 /76,105 /75,825 and the total is Rs 4,81,010.

Hostel facility is available for male and female students at the institute.
