Research fellowships at ICHR: Apply by Sept 10

New Delhi: Applications can be submitted till September 10 for senior academic fellowship and post-doctoral fellowship at the Indian Council of Historical Research (ICHR), an autonomous body under the Union Ministry of Education.

1. Senior academic fellowship: This assistance is for senior scholars who have done quality work and published papers in professional journals on history.

The soft copy and the hard copy of the applications must be submitted as per the instructions. The former should be sent to ichr.saf@gmail.com

The minimum age limit is 50 years. The applicant must have 15 years of academic/research experience and is also required to have 10 research articles, one standard book or completed two research projects. Those short-listed after the preliminary selection should make a presentation at the ICHR headquarters.

The scholars will receive a monthly fellowship of Rs 44,000 for 2 years and a contingency grant of Rs 44,000 per annum.

A maximum of 10 fellowships will be granted. The reservations policies will be followed.

2. Post-doctoral fellowship: This fellowship is for those who have secured PhD or have done research work in History or allied subjects and are working at a recognised institution full time.

The scholars will receive a monthly amount of Rs 30,800 and an annual grant of Rs 22,000 for two years. The soft copy and hard copy of the applications should be submitted as instructed. The former should be sent to dd.pdf@ichr.ac.in.

The application fee is Rs 600.

Candidates from the SC/ST communities and the differently abled will get their travel expenses reimbursed. A maximum of 10 fellowships will be granted.
