The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), a reputed training and research institution in the field of international business over the last 60 years, has invited applications for admissions to its MBA programmes for the batch of 2024-26. The last date to apply online is December 6. Applications of non-resident Indians will be received between January 15 and March 15, 2024.
At the Delhi centre, two MBA programmes are offered: International Business with 258 seats and Business Analytics with 60 seats. In Kolkata, only MBA in International Business is available and there are 53 seats.
Students who join the International Business course have to reside on the campus. Those who gain an MBA from IIFT gain good postings every year. The application fee is Rs 3000. The fee for candidates belonging to Scheduled / Differently-abled and Transgender categories is Rs 1500 and for NRIs, Rs 15,000.
IIFT, which functions under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, is based in Delhi and has units at Kolkata and Kakinada as well. A deemed university, IIFT also conducts various studies along with foreign universities.
Eligibility
International Business: A bachelor’s degree with at least 50-percent marks in any subject. The cut-off is 45 percent for Scheduled and Differently-abled candidates. Preliminary selection will take place based on CAT-2023 score and other criteria. Subsequently, a group discussion and interview will take place.
Business Analytics: A degree in Mathematics / Statistics or BTech in any branch or any degree with Mathematics after plus-two (class 12) with at least 50-percent marks (5/10 grade point average). However, Applied Maths is not sufficient. Selection will be conducted based on CAT 2023 or a GMAT score not previous to January 1, 2023 and other criteria.
Students who can submit the exam results by October 31, 2024 also can apply. There is no age limit for any course. Reservations are available under Central government guidelines.
Fees
The total fee for two years for International Business students of the last batch was Rs 22 lakh, including hostel food, in Delhi and Rs 21 lakh in Kolkata. For Business Analytics students in Delhi, the fee for two years, excluding hostel expenses, was Rs 17 lakh. There is a 50-percent concession on tuition fees for students belonging to Scheduled and Differently-abled categories.

Certificate programme
IIFT is also conducting a 12-month ‘Certificate Programme in International Business Consultancy’, for which applications could be submitted till November 15. This programme is aimed at candidates who plan to work in consulting companies or launch such firms.
The classes for this programme will mainly be conducted online on weekends. Offline classes will also be offered at Kolkata campus.
Eligibility to apply is a bachelor’s degree with minimum 50-percent marks and three years’ work experience. A postgraduate degree in specific professional subjects will also be considered. Total fees: Rs 1,75,000 and GST. Complete details are available on the website.
