Kottayam: Excelsior English School at Illikkal here is hosting a Model United Nations titled 'EMUN 2K23' starting Thursday. The event will conclude on Saturday. Model United Nations (MUN) is a simulation of the UN where participants role-play as delegates from different countries to discuss and debate global issues.
As many as 320 participants from 19 schools across the state will participate as delegates in the two-day event. The inaugural session will be held at 5 pm on Thursday. K Karthick, District Police Chief, and other dignitaries will attend this session. It will be followed by various informative and entertainment programmes.
Excelsior has been associating with the Indian International Model United Nations (IIMUN) since 2015. In that year, Excelsior won the championship trophy in the IIMUN conference that was held in Madurai.
Excelsior hosted Kerala's first IIMUN in 2015 and continued for three consecutive years until 2017. Excelsior hosted her independent EMUN in 2019, and EMUN 2K23 is the fifth conference of MUN at Excelsior English School.
