Thiruvananthapuram: Starting this year, aspiring students seeking admission to BSC (Bachelor of Science) Nursing course in Kerala will undergo an entrance examination. Health Minister Veena George announced the decision, emphasizing that comprehensive discussions will soon take place to finalize the entrance exam's details, including the syllabus.

The government is currently deliberating whether the responsibility of conducting the exam should be entrusted to the LBS Centre for Science and Technology or the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations-Kerala.

The Indian Nursing Council (INC) has issued a directive to commence this year’s BSc Nursing admissions on August 1 and complete the process by September 30. INC has consistently urged all states to implement an entrance exam for BSc Nursing admissions over the last three years.

The Private College Managements Association issued a warning, stating their intention to discontinue the unified admission process if the proposed entrance exam is not conducted.
