Thiruvananthapuram: The 64th edition of the Kerala School Kalolsavam will be held in Thrissur in the upcoming year, the General Education Department announced on Saturday. The event is expected to take place in January.

The School Athletics Meet, titled ‘School Olympics’, and the Science Fair will be held in Thiruvananthapuram and Palakkad, respectively. As per the department's decision, the Special School Festival will be conducted in Malappuram.

In January this year, Thrissur district clinched the gold cup at the School Kalolsavam held in Thiruvananthapuram. The district emerged champions with 1008 points, narrowly defeating neighbouring Palakkad, which secured 1007 points. This marked Thrissur’s first win in 25 years.
