Smart classrooms launched in 10 schools across Alappuzha municipality

Alappuzha: The Interactive Smart Classroom project, which aims to integrate modern technology into learning, was launched in ten schools in Alappuzha.
Implemented under the municipality’s annual plan, the project has been rolled out on a pilot basis in one classroom in each of the ten schools. A total of ₹20 lakh has been allocated for the initiative, with ₹2 lakh spent on each school.
Each Smart Classroom is equipped with a projector, amplifier set, magnetic whiteboard, interactive panel trolley, executive table and ancillary facilities. The project, designed to incorporate AI technology, seeks to maximise the benefits of modern tools for students’ learning experiences.
As the first phase, Smart Classrooms have been set up in one classroom each of the Government Girls High School, Muhammadan’s Boys and Girls High School, Aryad School, Poonthoppil Bhagam School, Thiruvambadi UP School, SDV JB School, Kalarkode LPS, Kalarkode UPS and Muhammadan’s LPS.
H Salam MLA inaugurated the project at the Government Girls' High School. Municipal Chairperson K K Jayamma presided over the event. Standing Committee Chairpersons M R Prem and A S Kavitha, Standing Committee members B Naseer, Simi Shafikhan, Gopika Vijayaprasad and Nasiya, School PTA President Faisal, Education Standing Committee Chairperson R Vineetha and Headmistress Mary Agnus were among those who spoke.
“Within the municipal limits, there are 18 educational institutions, including 15 government schools, two Government TTIs, and one pre-primary TTI. Based on the availability of funds, the municipality plans to extend the project to the remaining educational institutions,” said R Vineetha.
