Kochi: The Kochi Metro rail service was hit on Thursday after one of the rakes malfunctioned during its journey.

The train was stranded due to technical issues at Ambattukavu metro station in Aluva. The metro service has been partially suspended and there is currently no service to Palarivattom.

The people in the affected train were de-boarded at Muttam railway station and taken in other trains. Authorities have informed that the service will be restored soon.

Around 40,000 passengers use travel every day by metro, which had celebrated its first anniversary on June 17.
